  • Location: east side of Highway 97, between Morrow Road and Highway 412; bordered by Main Street on the east. 
  • First major commercial development in Sand Springs since Walmart.
  • Funding: 30-acre development funded by Vision 2025, spanning from 2004 to 2024.
  • Project created more than 16 business starts which generate over $1,000,000 sales tax annually plus lodging tax.
  • Market sectors include dining, groceries, healthcare and pharmacy, lodging, automotive, banking, fitness, other retail/commercial businesses. 
  • Status: All lots sold! Final business opened in December 2024.

  • Location: west side of Highway 97 near Morrow Road.
  • Status: In progress - lots are available.
  • Olive Garden opened - April 2025.
  • Highway 97 reconstruction underway in this area (State of Oklahoma/ODOT project).

  • Location: north side of 51st Street, west of 112th / Highway 97.
  • 65-acre subdivision coming soon with estimated 135 single-family home lots.
  • Status: In progress, started fall 2024

  • Location: 3200 Airport Rd, Sand Springs, OK 74063.
  • Status: In progress, Spring 2025.

  • Location: 3200 Airport Rd, Sand Springs, OK 74063.
  • Funding: Local ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) appropriations and matching State ARPA funding, managed by the Oklahoma Water Resources Board 
  • Status: In progress, started fall 2024.








Berryhill Schools Sewer project  Berryhill sewer project construction photo

  • Location:  The Berryhill Schools complex is located off of 65th W. Ave.
  • Funding:  City, school district, and federal funding. The City of Sand Springs is managing this project in partnership with Berryhill Schools and Tulsa County (American Rescue Plan Act) funding.
  • Status: In progress, started late 2024.







41st Street Overlay (129th to Hwy 97)  

  • Location: 41st Street from 129th W. Avenue to Highway 97.
  • Status: In design, 2024-2025.



113th Avenue widening (Hwy 51 to 41st) 113th avenue widening construction utility phase

  • Location:  113th Street from Highway 51 to 41st Street.
  • Includes signal at 32nd and sidewalks.  
  • Status: In pre-construction/utilities relocation phase, 2024-25.








Lighted Street Signs 

  • LED signs with city logos replaced outdated metal signs throughout town.
  • Status: Completed fall 2024



Replacement Animal Welfare Facilitynew animal welfare rendering

  • Location: 1640 W. Wekiwa Road, just west of 129th W. Ave. It replaces the existing building near the wastewater treatment plant.
  • Funding: 2022 GO Bond.
  • Status: In progress - started summer 2024. 
  • Opening summer 2025.

  • Location: northwest corner of 3rd and Main Street on the Sand Springs Public School District’s administration complex site.
  • Funding: 2022 GO Bond.
  • Partnership with Sand Springs Public Schools. The school district facility renovation project at that site is funded separately.  
  • Status: In progress, started summer 2024.





Downtown Box District Streetscape improvements  phase 2 and 3 downtown streetscape rendering

  • Location:  Broadway Avenue from Garfield to Main, Main Street from Broadway to 2nd Street, and the south side of Triangle Park.
  • Funding: 2022 GO Bond.
  • Phase 2 and 3 to begin in late spring 2025.









Parks and Trails improvements DJI_0007

  • Location: Various park locations around Sand Springs.
  • Funding: 2022 GO Bond.
  • Bond funding is being used from two different 2022 propositions (Parks and Community Development) for parks and recreation improvements. Highlights include building improvements at the Sand Springs Cultural and Historical Museum, neighborhood trail improvements, sports field improvements at Case Community Park, new portable restrooms for tournaments and special events, and an expansion of the Parks Department maintenance building located at Case Park. Parking lot improvements are in progress for the park facilities.
  • Status: The Case Park sports fields have received new backstop fencing and lighting repairs. Two new parking lots have been completed so far at BMX and the Will Ramsey Youth Softball Complex. Additional parking lot expansion work at Case Park is in the final planning and design phase. Sports field grading and resurfacing work is going out to bid in late Spring of 2025, with work scheduled later this year. 


New Dog Park  

  • Location: south Sand Springs just east of Pratt library, between 113th and Highway 97, north of 34th Street. 
  • Funding: 2022 GO Bond.
  • Status: In pre-design phase, 2025.

  • Location: 1801 N McKinley Ave Rd, Sand Springs, OK 74063.
  • Work includes site upgrades and expansion of parking facilities.
  • Funding: 2022 GO Bond.
  • Status: In design, fall 2024. 
  • Work to begin in 2025.
