To help Sand Springs citizens better understand the city budget, the City of Sand Springs is hosting its first ever Budget Fair for Fiscal Year 2015 on Monday, January 27, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Municipal Building at 100 E Broadway Street.
We are calling this event a “fair” because it will be set up similar to a job fair with different tables representing each different department within the City. There will not be a formal seating of an audience for a structured and prepared presentation. Representatives from each City department (Administration, Emergency Management, Finance, Fire, Fleet Services, Human Resources, Marketing, Parks, Planning, Police, and Public Works) will be on-hand to answer questions and gather input for City Council.
According to Interim City Manager, Derek Campbell, “Our goal is to make sure our citizens have the opportunity to understand the City budget, ask questions and let our City Council know what they would like to see included in the budget.”
The Budget Fair is a come-and-go event. You can arrive at 6:00 and stay the full two hours or, if you have a specific question for a department, stop in, get it answered and leave. It’s up to you. We also invite you to stay for the City Council meeting the same evening at 7:00 pm.
